Cold boost test

The cold boost test is an auxiliary test used to check whether blood pressure is normal. Cold environment or cold stimulation in one part of the body can cause sympathetic nerve excitement, peripheral blood vessel contraction, and slight increase in blood pressure. Patients with orthostatic hypotension do not have the above reaction due to the abnormal sympathetic reflex arc function, while patients with hypertension have a higher response to cold stimuli due to the increased excitability of the sympathetic nervous system. Through this examination, you can determine the lesion site and the corresponding symptoms.
