Estriol
Estrogen is mainly produced by the ovaries, placenta, and a small amount from the adrenal glands. After being secreted, estrogen is inactivated and metabolized in the liver and excreted by the kidneys through the urine. Estriol is secreted by a type of estrogen, mainly mature follicles and corpus luteum in the ovary, and is mainly secreted by the placenta during pregnancy. Estriol is important for understanding the function of the placenta and identifying fetal diseases.
