Blood lactate
Lactic acid is an intermediate product of glucose metabolism in the body. Under certain pathological conditions (such as respiratory failure or circulatory failure), it can cause hypoxia in the tissue, and hypoxia can cause increased lactic acid in the body. In addition, during the metabolism of glucose in the body, such as increased glycolysis speed, vigorous exercise and dehydration can also cause the body to increase lactic acid. Elevated lactic acid in the body can cause lactic acidosis. Examination of blood lactate levels can indicate the severity of the underlying disease.
