Serum interferon
Interferon (IFN) is divided into two types. Type I interferons include & alpha; -IFN and & beta; -IFN are produced by leukocytes and fibroblasts. Type II interferon, also known as & gamma; -IFN or immune interferon It is produced by mitogen-stimulated T lymphocytes. Interferon is a highly effective antiviral biologically active substance and a lymphokine with a wide range of immunomodulatory effects. There are many interferon detection methods, such as plaque reduction method, virus quantification method, radioimmunoassay method and cytopathy inhibition method.
