Serum alpha-fetoprotein

Alpha-fetoprotein is an acidic glycoprotein that is present in the liver and yolk sac in the early stages of fetal development and gradually disappears shortly after birth. The content of normal people is extremely low. When the content is significantly increased, it is helpful for the diagnosis of primary liver cancer. At present, it is often used for the general screening and early diagnosis of primary liver cancer, and can also be used to indicate the effect of surgical resection of liver cancer (that is, whether it is completely or relapsed).
