Autoimmune hepatitis

Autoimmune hepatitis is a chronic progressive liver inflammatory disease mediated by an autoimmune response. It is clinically characterized by varying levels of elevated serum transaminase, hypergammaglobulinemia, and positive autoantibodies. Histological features are lymphoid Cellular and plasma cell infiltration-based interface hepatitis, severe cases can quickly progress to cirrhosis and liver failure. The disease occurs throughout the world, and the incidence is relatively high in European and American countries. The exact incidence and prevalence in China are not clear, but the number of cases reported in the domestic literature is increasing.
