Congenital stenosis and atresia
Congenital stenosis and atresia of colon are relatively rare, and the first case was reported by Bininger in 1673. In 1922, Gaub used colostomy for the first time to treat the deformity, and in 1947, Potts successfully used a single-stage anastomosis to treat the disease. Because the disease is not common, there is no systematic and comprehensive report, which is limited to individual case reports. Colonic atresia and stenosis are rare in gastrointestinal atresia and stenosis, which generally account for about 10%, and only gastric atresia is more rare.
