Hematoporphyrinic peripheral neuropathy
Porphyria (Porphyria), also known as hemocyaninosis, is an abnormal pigment metabolism. It is because in the process of heme biosynthesis, due to gene defects of some enzymes related to porphyrin metabolism, the enzyme activity is reduced, and porphyrins and porphyrin precursors are accumulated in the body. According to different enzyme defects, the disease is clinically divided into several types, some of which can cause nervous system damage, and are mainly characterized by peripheral nerve damage.
