Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia in children

Pneumocystis carinii (PC) is currently considered to be a species of protozoa. The life history of PC is not fully understood, but it is known to be a form of human-animal co-infection. PC pneumonia is an opportunistic infectious disease that occurs on the basis of host immune deficiency.
