Chronic bullous disease in children

Chronic bullous disease of childhood is a non-hereditary bullous skin disease in children. It is more common in children in Asia and Africa than in western countries. This disease is the same as linear IgA bullous dermatosis in children. Its clinical manifestations are similar to juvenile pemphigoid. Immunopathology shows linear IgA deposition along the basement membrane band. No IgG or IgA can be detected in the serum. Immunological tests should be repeated at intervals of 2 to 3 weeks. Can be treated with corticosteroids and dapsone.
