Congenital atresia and stenosis
Embryonic intestinal development, during the re-regulation process, part of the intestinal tract stops developing, causing the intestinal lumen to be completely or partially blocked. A complete obstruction is a lockout, and a partial obstruction is a stenosis. It can occur in any part of the intestine, but it is most common in the ileum, followed by duodenum, and the colon is rare. Is one of the common causes of intestinal obstruction in newborns.
