Gastric and duodenal ulcer bleeding

Gastric and duodenal ulcers with bleeding are one of the common causes of upper gastrointestinal bleeding. Bleeding is caused by erosion, rupture, etc. of blood vessels. When the capillaries are damaged, occult blood is found only during stool examinations; when large blood vessels are damaged, black stools and vomiting occur. Symptoms generally worsen before bleeding, and upper abdominal pain eases or disappears after bleeding.
