Dendrolimus osteoarthritis
Dendrolimus osteoarthropathy refers to bone or joint disease caused by direct or indirect contact with live, dead or worm hair of Dendrolimus, which is a part of systemic disease. The disease is prevalent in the southern provinces of China such as Fujian, Guangdong, Hubei, Hunan, and Zhejiang. Mostly in the summer and autumn seasons, when pine caterpillars are in full bloom from April to August, there is a regional outbreak. According to surveys, about 40 species of pine caterpillars have been found in China, with 6 species that are more harmful and widely distributed: red pine caterpillars, Chinese pine caterpillars, larch caterpillars, horsetail pine caterpillars, Yunnan pine caterpillars, and Siam pine caterpillars. Among them, Dendrolimus punctatus is the most widely distributed and the most harmful.
