Saline infusion test
The saline infusion test is performed by the following principles. Under normal circumstances, after saline infusion, blood sodium and blood volume increase, and a large amount of sodium salt enters the nephron distal tubule, which can inhibit the secretion of renin in the glomerular cells. Therefore, the secretion of angiotensin-aldosterone is suppressed, and the levels of renin, angiotensin, and aldosterone in the blood are reduced.
