Retroperitoneal infection and abscess
Retroperitoneal Infection and Abscessr are relatively rare. The common pathogens are E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Proteus common, Aerobacter and Streptococcus. Occasionally caused by anaerobic bacteria, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Brucella, actinomycetes and amoeba. The extraperitoneal space is less responsive to bacterial infections, difficult to detect by physical examination, and more difficult to diagnose.
