Ectopic antidiuretic secretion syndrome in the elderly

Tumor cells secrete hormones called ectopic endocrine. Among them, ectopic antidiuretic secretion syndrome (SIADH) is one of the important complications in tumor patients. Mainly manifested as hyponatremia with urine concentration. Ectopic ADH can promote reabsorption of water by renal tubules. As a result, imbalances in water and sodium metabolism, water retention, and hyponatremia (diluted hyponatremia) occurred.
