Cartilage ectoderm hypoplasia

Chondroectodermal dysplasia was first reported by Ellis and Van Creveld in 1940, so it is often referred to as Ellis-Van Creveld syndrome. It has a higher incidence in intermarried families and is an autosomal recessive inheritance. Both mesoderm and ectodermal tissues are involved, often with congenital heart disease.
