Congenital bile duct cystic dilatation

Congenital cystic dilatation of bile duct is a surgical biliary disease with cholestasis. Vater reported the first case of common bile duct cysts in 1723 and has since been reported. Congenital bile duct cystic dilatation can occur in the liver, anywhere in the outer bile duct except the gallbladder. Caroli described the cystic changes of the intrahepatic bile duct in detail in 1958, so names such as congenital common bile duct cysts can no longer include all such diseases, and scholars believe that it is appropriate to collectively refer to cystic dilatation or bile duct cysts.
