Pediatric Wegener's Granuloma
Wegeners granulomatosis (WG) is a systemic disease mainly characterized by more than one, lower respiratory tract necrosis, granulomatous vasculitis, glomerulonephritis and vasculitis of other organs. Lesions involve arterioles, veins, and capillaries. Clinical manifestations are often nasal and sinusitis, lung disease, and progressive renal failure. Klinger first described the disease in 1931. Five years later, Wegner fully described the disease and distinguished it from nodular polyarteritis. This disease was once considered a variant of nodular polyarteritis.
