Swallow foreign body
Gastrointestinal foreign body is a common abdominal emergency. The vast majority of foreign bodies are swallowed, which occurs in infants and young children and mental illness or attempted suicide. Most are asymptomatic, and foreign bodies can be expelled through the anus on their own, but some patients need surgical treatment due to difficulty in foreign body excretion or complications. In recent years, due to the popularity and development of endoscopes, some foreign bodies in the digestive tract can be removed by means of endoscopes, thereby reducing the chance of complications and surgical treatment.
