Familial mediterranean fever

Familial Mediterranean fever is a spontaneous autosomal recessive disease of unknown etiology. Most of them occur in people of Mediterranean origin, especially non-Central European Jews, Armenians, Turks, and Levant Arabs. Most children develop disease, accompanied by fever and one or more manifestations of inflammation, such as peritonitis, arthritis, pleurisy, and erysipelas.
