Atypical fibrous xanthomas

Atypical fibroxanthoma is common. This tumor is a low-grade malignancy associated with malignant fibrous histiocytoma. The two are histologically similar, but the atypical fibrous xanthomas are smaller and shallower in location, so the prognosis is better.
