Human herpesvirus-6 infection

Human herpes virus-6 (HHV-6) was first isolated from peripheral blood lymphocytes of patients with lymphoproliferative diseases and AIDS by Salahnddin and Csvlo of the National Cancer Institute in 1986. The virus mainly infects human T cells and is similar to herpes virus in morphology and biology, so it was named human herpesvirus-6 (HHV-6).
