Pediatric biliary ascariasis
Biliary ascariasis is caused by paroxysmal severe pain in the abdomen due to spasm of the biliary and biliary opening Oddi sphincter caused by tapeworms entering the biliary tract. It mostly occurs in school-age children, and the incidence has decreased significantly in recent years.
