Closed injury of esophagus of throat and neck
Closed injury of pharynx and cervical esophagus is rare. It is often caused by external force that squeezes the pharyngeal cavity and cervical esophagus or is pulled by force, causing it to tear. Because there is no characteristic manifestation, it is difficult to diagnose early in the clinic, and it is often noticed because of deep neck infection or mediastinal infection. X-rays and esophageal radiography can help determine the site of injury.
