Cardiac dysfunction after burns
Post-burn cardiac complications are related to shock, stress, electrolyte disturbances, and invasive infections. Common arrhythmias, heart failure, myocardial infarction, and myocarditis are common. Arrhythmias include sinus tachycardia, paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, sinus bradycardia, and atrial fibrillation. The central sinus tachycardia is the most common.
