Constipation

Constipation (senile constipation) refers to reducing the number of bowel movements, difficulty in defecation, and dry stool. Normal people have bowel movements once or twice a day or once every two to three days. Patients with constipation have less than two bowel movements per week. Constipation can be seen in young people, but the elderly are more common. About 1/3 of the elderly can develop constipation, which seriously affects the quality of life of the elderly.
