Autonomous hyperfunctional thyroid adenoma

Autonomous hyperfunctional adenoma (also known as toxic adenoma), or autonomic hyperthyroidism, is caused by single or multiple high-functioning adenomas in the thyroid. A type of disease with symptoms of hyperthyroidism. The disease progresses slowly, more than at the time of diagnosis or found by others. It is more common in women over 40 years old. The tumor can be asymptomatic when the tumor is small, and the symptoms of typical hyperthyroidism can be seen when the tumor is large. The disease was previously considered rare in China. Since the application of thyroid imaging technology, the number of cases found has gradually increased. Because thyroid radionuclide imaging shows ldquo; hot nodule rdquo; (nodule 131I concentration) at the adenoma or nodule, and this nodule is not regulated by TSH, it is called an autonomic high-function thyroid Adenoma.
