Colon polyps in the elderly
Colorectal polyps are a general term for raised lesions on the surface of the large intestinal mucosa, which only indicate the appearance of the naked eye and do not explain the pathological properties. Intestinal polyps are most common in the large intestine, especially in the colon and sigmoid colon. The size can be from less than 2mm to more than 10cm in diameter. Some large intestinal polyps are benign epithelial tumors belonging to the intestinal mucosa, which are potentially malignant. They have practical significance for the prevention and treatment of tumors and should be noted.
