Calcaneal osteomyelitis
The calcaneus is the largest sacrum of the human body, and is mainly composed of cancellous bone, surrounded by only a thin layer of cortical bone. When the human body is standing, the calcaneus is at the lowest position, and the blood returns slowly due to the influence of gravity, which is conducive to the bacteria staying on the bone to reproduce. Especially in the center of the calcaneal body, the sparse trabecular bone triangle area is rich in bone marrow, which is the weak part of the calcaneus structure, so it is the susceptible part of the calcaneus bloodborne osteomyelitis.
