Sickle cell nephropathy
The kidney damage caused by sickle cell disease is called sickle cell nephropathy. Sickle cell disease is a type of hemoglobinopathy caused by abnormal hemoglobin. Hemolytic anemia is the most common, accompanied by low specific polyuria, suggesting that the patient has abnormal renal tubular function.
