Parapharyngeal abscess

Parapharyngeal abscess is a purulent inflammation of the parapharyngeal space, and it develops into an abscess for cellulitis at an early stage. There are many ways of infection, such as acute inflammation of the palatine tonsils, pharyngeal tonsils, teeth, parotid glands, and nasal and lymph nodes of the pharynx, which can spread to the parapharyngeal space. Especially in children, these parts are common places where infection occurs, so the parapharyngeal space is one of the most susceptible spaces in the head and neck.
