Peripheral lymph node tuberculosis
Peripheral lymph node tuberculosis is the most common type of childhood extrapulmonary tuberculosis and can be seen in all ages, but it is most common in infants and preschool children. Tuberculosis can occur in lymph nodes in all groups of the body, but the most common are cervical, submandibular, supraclavicular, and axillary lymph nodes. Swollen lymph nodes are often isolated and painless, hard and mobile; a few patients have chronic fever, night sweats, loss of appetite, and weight loss.
