Abdominal aorta vena cava fistula

In 1831, James Syne reported for the first time that aorto-caval fistula (ACF) caused by the aortic aneurysm breaking into the inferior vena cava was the most common cause of abdominal aortic vena cava fistula. Occurrence sites are mostly in the distal aorta or slightly above the common iliac vein confluence.
