Eosinophilic granuloma of bone

Bone eosinophilic granuloma generally refers to histiocytosis, which is limited to bone, and is a type of histiocytosis. Osteolytic lesions contain the accumulation of histiocytes and eosinophils. The age of onset is adolescents, and the sites of onset are skull, ribs, spine, and scapula. Long bone lesions are more common in the metaphysis and backbone. Pain and swelling are the main symptoms that can cause pathological fractures. Most patients see a pathological fracture. In those cases where the vertebral body collapses, spinal cord or nerve root compression symptoms may occur in some cases. Osteolytic lesions contain accumulation of histiocytes and eosinophils.
