Bowel torsion
Intestinal torsion is a common intestinal obstruction caused by the rotation of one intestinal loop along the long axis of the mesentery or the twisting of two intestinal loops into knots. Often, the intestinal loop and its mesentery are too long, and the intestinal cavity is compressed and narrowed after intestinal torsion, which causes obstruction, torsion and compression affect the blood supply of the intestinal canal. Therefore, intestinal obstruction caused by intestinal torsion is mostly stenotic.
