Bronchiectasis in the elderly
Bronchiectasis refers to the persistent expansion and deformation of the bronchial lumen in the lungs. Chronic inflammation of the bronchus and surrounding tissues and bronchial obstruction have led to severe pathological damage to the bronchial wall tissue structure. Fibrous remodeling of the tube wall, abnormal expansion of the bronchi, clinical manifestations of chronic cough, a large amount of purulent sputum or repeated hemoptysis and other symptoms. It may be complicated by pulmonary fibrosis, emphysema, pulmonary heart disease, and respiratory failure.
