Cerebral embolism in the elderly
Cerebral embolism refers to acute cerebrovascular disease caused by clogging of cerebral arteries with emboli entering the blood circulation, accounting for 15% to 20% of strokes. The age of onset is relatively large. The majority of young people are caused by rheumatic heart disease, and the elderly are the main cause of coronary heart disease and aortic disease.
