Congenital subglottic stenosis
The diameter of the subglottic cavity of normal infants is 5.5-6mm. Due to abnormal development and narrowness of the subglottic cavity causing obstruction, it is said to be congenital subglottic stenosis. It is blocked on one or both sides of the subglottic cavity wall, mostly elastic cone disease, but also caused by ring cartilage deformity.
