Chylothorax
Chylous chest is caused by rupture or obstruction of thoracic ducts due to different reasons. The thoracic duct is the largest lymphatic vessel in the body, with a total length of about 30-40 cm. It originates from the chylopool in front of the first lumbar vertebra in the abdominal cavity and passes through the diaphragm through the aortic hiatus and into the mediastinum. Then go up along the right front of the vertebra and the back of the esophagus, and cross the vertebra at the fifth thoracic spine diagonally to the left. Ascend the vertebral body and the left side of the esophagus to the neck, pass through the carotid sheath behind the subclavian artery and return to the left vein angle (the junction of the left jugular vein and left subclavian vein).
