Hypothyroidism in the elderly
Hypothyroidism (hypothyroidism, referred to as hypothyroidism) refers to a clinical syndrome caused by the lack of thyroid hormones due to different reasons, the metabolism of the body and the function of various systems throughout the body. Female hypothyroidism is more common than male, and its prevalence increases with age. Because of the changes in the elderly's autoimmunity and susceptibility to immune disorders, it is not uncommon for hypothyroidism in the elderly. Hypofunction begins in the elderly or transitions from adult hypothyroidism to senile age.
