Acute calculus cholecystitis
The onset of acute calculus cholecystitis is caused by stones blocking the gallbladder duct, causing bile retention in the gallbladder and secondary bacterial infections leading to acute inflammation. Acute noncalculious cholecystitis, the gallbladder duct is often not obstructed. The etiology of most patients is unclear. It usually occurs after trauma or some abdominal surgery that has nothing to do with the biliary system.
