Acute tongue tonsillitis
Acute lingual tonsillitis (acute lingual tonsillitis) is acute inflammation of lymphoid tissue masses at the base of the tongue, mostly secondary to upper respiratory tract infection or concurrent acute tonsillitis. The etiology and causes are the same as those of acute tonsillitis, and the main pathogenic bacteria is type B hemolytic streptococcus.
