Serum monoamine oxidase isoenzyme

MAO is an extracellular enzyme that uses pyridoxal phosphate as a coenzyme. Mostly distributed in the mitochondria of liver, kidney and other tissues, its distribution is liver> heart> kidney> brain> lung> skeletal muscle, platelets and placenta also contain MAO, there are three isoenzymes, from anode to cathode during electrophoresis MAO-Ⅰ, MAO-Ⅱ and MAO-Ⅲ have two subunits, MAO-A and MAO-B.
