Epidemic typhus, also known as louse-borne typhus or ldquo; Typical typhus rdquo ;, is transmitted by body lice Rickettsia prowa zekii Acute infectious disease. Its clinical features are persistent high fever, headache, petechiae-like rash (or maculopapular rash), and central nervous system symptoms. The natural course is about 2 to 3 weeks.
