Neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis
Necrotizing enterocolitis of newborn (NEC) is an acquired disease. The intestinal mucosa is even deep in the intestine due to ischemia and hypoxia for a variety of reasons. It mainly occurs in premature babies or sick newborns, with abdominal distension and blood in the stool as the main symptoms. It most often occurs in the distal ileum and proximal colon. The small intestine is rarely affected, and the flat part of the abdominal X-ray shows cystic gas. As a feature, this disease is a very serious disease of the digestive system of the newborn.
