Cough syncope
Cough syncope is a loss of consciousness immediately after a severe cough, low muscle tone, and short periods of time. A few patients first felt dizzy, dazzled, and turned pale from pale to sweaty. Patients are mostly obese men after middle age, who often smoke with bronchitis and emphysema, and whooping cough or asthma also develop in children. Most often after a repeated cough, they occasionally faint after a single cough, call, sneeze, yawn or laugh. Coughing increases the intrathoracic pressure, which leads to obstruction of venous return and cardiovascular reflex factors.
