Supracondylar fracture of humerus
Supracondylar fracture of the humerus refers to the fracture of the distal humerus above the medial and lateral condyles. It is most common in children, accounting for 3% to 7% of limb fractures, 30% to 40% of elbow fractures, of which 90% are straight. Frequent age is 5 to 12 years. When the humeral supracondylar fracture is not handled properly, it is easy to cause Volkmann ischemic muscle contracture or elbow deformity. Although various treatment methods have been improved or improved, the severely damaging Volkmann ischemic muscle contracture has been significantly reduced, but the elbow varus deformity continues to occur, and the incidence is still high. Care must be taken during treatment.
