Burning pain

Burning pain is a severe and persistent burning sensation on the local skin surface caused by incomplete peripheral nerve damage. Postts first discussed the report of trauma causing the disease in the late 18th century. Mitehell established the term "burning pain" in 1972. The entire course of the disease is continuous, and the upper limbs are more common than the lower limbs. They are more common in the median and sciatic nerve injuries. About 50% of patients begin with pain at the site of the injury and can be limited to the area of the affected nerve.
