Tuberculosis due to AIDS: HIV-positive patients are 30 times more likely to be infected with tuberculosis than HIV-negative patients. It is generally believed that after an HIV-negative person is infected with tuberculosis bacteria, there is a 10% chance of developing tuberculosis in his lifetime; while an HIV-positive person will develop 10% of the disease in a year.
